We will be working on a DBQ Essay in class.  We will be taking it step by step to complete the assignment:

Wednesday:  CRQ questions and review responses
Thursday:  Analyze the documents and develop a thesis statement
Friday:  Create topic sentences and an essay outline
Monday:  Start to write the essay
Tuesday:  Finish essay

Class Agenda

1.  Bell Ringer:  Why do people collect stuff (coins, baseball cards, comic books, etc)?  Identify 3 reasons.
2.  Brain-Pop on "Stocks and Shares"
3.  The Stock Market Worksheet (Pg. 19)
  • Go to Google Finance and type your company's name in the box where it says "Get quotes"
  • See what the current price per share (it'll be the big number under the company's name).  Complete the arrows up through "Total Cost" on Pg. 19.
  • For the last 2 arrows...scroll over the stock chart and look at the price of your stock 3 days ago (FURTHEST to the left on the chart).  
  • If you invested your money 3 days ago...would you have made money?  Or lost money?
