Class Agenda 9/27

1.  Bellringer:  Do Q's on pg. 25.  How were Southern African-Americans negatively impacted after the Civil War?
2.  Sharecropping discussion (pg. 17) Why is sharecropping sometimes referred to as "the ghost of antebellum South?"
3.  Vocabulary Review (pgs 4-5).  Class Activity - in your groups identify and summarize the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments.  Your summary must be 5 words or less!  Draw a picture to represent each amendment.  Divide a piece of notebook paper into thirds...using one section for each amendment...we will model this "foldable" technique in class.

1.  Bellringer:  View video clip (reviewing the impeachment topic from yesterday) and answer the following question:  How did Andrew Johnson create conflict with the Radical Republicans?
2.  Pg. 16 bottom..."Review."  Did checks and balances work in the case of Andrew Johnson?  
3.  KKK - "A Failed Revolution" view last 2 minutes of clip (above) - discuss and view powerpoint.  What was the role of the KKK in the "New South?"  What kind of impact did they have?
