2.  View Civil Rights Highlights Clips (pg. 26)...civil disobedience in action.

3.  Closure:  Based on the footage you saw in the clips...Why do you think TV was so important in the successes of the Civil Rights movement?  How was this similar to what we discussed about the TV and the Vietnam War?  How does Social Media play a similar role today?
4.  Did President Lyndon B. Johnson really change the political landscape forever?  Look at the shift of many of the southern states between 1952 and 1964.

1.  Bellringer:  Watch Brown vs. BOE Brain-pop as a refresher.  What is integration?  
2.  Reading Activity (pg. 13-20).  Do the questions on pg. 20.
3.  Watch "Central High" clip.  Passing laws and Supreme Court decisions did NOT change the hearts and minds of many white southerners.  What happens when integration occurs for young kids?  Case Study:  Ruby Bridges.
