1.  Bellringer:  A unemployed man steals food to feed his hungry family (PS - There are roughly 16 million hungry kids in America!).  Is he a hero or criminal?  Both?  Explain.  Bridge to discussion of perspective...and link bellringer concept to the contrasting terms of captain of industry and robber baron.

2.  Industrial Revolution Intro (pg. 6).

• Brain-pop:  Industrial Revolution.  Review from last year, and pre-view for this unit...why do we consider this the "Second" Industrial Revolution?  Then complete notes on pg. 6.

3.  Activity (pg. 7) - discuss/apply to Nike today.
4.  Should Columbus Day be a national holiday?
